Strike Up a Conversation!

Some of us were born with the gift of gab, and some of us were not. Do you find it easy to strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger? After all, it is a skill that will come in pretty handy on campus. You might end up sharing a room with one!

Beyond meeting a new roommate, you might need to approach one of your professors about anything from difficult readings to class overrides, or you may need to find a friend in the bookstore to help you sort through your book purchases.

If you’ve always been shy, this will be a good time for you to overcome your fear of meeting new people and striking up a conversation out of the blue. You’ll see that it’s not nearly as difficult as you think.
